This is a Kantha silk saree with traditional Kantha
embroidery work called ‘Baish ranga’ done all over the aanchal, border and most
part of the body. ‘Baish’ – i.e. 22 different colors of silk threads have been
used to do the heavy and intricate embroidery work . The patterns with floral
motifs and birds are very traditional and authentic Bengali designs.
The use of 22 different colours on the royal blue base gives it an extremely
bright, lively and vibrant look. This saree is directly sourced from
Shantiniketan, West Bengal where it is hand-embroidered by the women, on pure
Bishnupuri silk base. A very traditional yet modern saree, suitable for all
occasions, for women of all age.
