Gorgeous baluchari silk saree with flame color base , with the theme of Ramayana woven in the saree. Comes with blouse piece.
The theme of the saree is inspired by the epic of Ramayana. The border depicts the famous tale of queen Kaikeyi receiving two boons from King Dasharath. Queen Kaikeyi was a brave warrior. She accompanied her husband , the King of Ayodhya, to the battle field. When the wheel of king's chariot broke down, it was Kaikeyi who fixes it with her thumb and drives the wounded Dasharath to safety. The king, grateful for his life, grants two boons to the queen. This tale is beautifully captured on the saree.
The body has the motifs of a royal lady with garland in her hand, as if she is going for swayamvar.
